Description
The Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Digital Marketing Expert is responsible for applying leading edge core SEO tactics, including but not limited to onsite/offsite SEO, local, mobile, video and social. This role will drive business results by cultivating and maintaining leading edge SEO expertise, and leveraging it to strategically consult and guide FindLaw’s broader SEO deployment strategy for small law firm websites. This role will also be called upon to provide pre-sales SEO support for an assigned geographic territory, assist with escalated client issues as necessary, and drive special projects/initiatives to enhance SEO performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain subject matter expertise in SEO by monitoring and maintaining leading edge expertise on SEO industry trends.
- Identify and recommend portfolio-wide SEO strategies to improve overall performance of FindLaw’s small law firm websites
- Partner with SEO Strategists to test, identify, establish and deploy SEO best practices across the organization
- Own and/or champion SEO initiatives to drive incremental performance, including but not limited to new tools, new tactics, 3rd party consultants, 3rd party partnerships, continuing education, and performance pilots
- Maintain organizational alignment with other Digital Marketing Experts and partner SEO organizations in other departments to establish a consistent point of view on key SEO issues (e.g. algorithm updates, emerging/outdated tactics etc.)
- Provide ongoing strategic guidance to the organization on potential SEO risk
- Lead SEO test plan development. Identify opportunities for SEO testing & measurement. Partner with analytics group to implement testing and measurement.
- Partner across the organization to establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for SEO performance
- In assigned territory, provide pre-sales support as necessary to assess market, understand high-level client goals, and recommend appropriate SEO deployment strategy
- In assigned territory, assist with analysis, evaluation, and remediation of escalated client issues as necessary
- Provide mentoring support and/or feedback to other SEO departments as necessary
- Assist with special projects as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Required Experience:
- 7+ years of SEO experience
- In depth knowledge of one or more of the following for organic SEO: keyword research, onsite optimization, link building, offsite optimization, local, mobile, social and/or video
- Proven success of driving SEO performance beyond just individual SERP rankings
- Proven success in consulting with clients to understand/refine business objectives, and create/deploy an appropriate SEO strategy to address
- Strong analytical experience and expertise with web analytics software
- Proven ability to leverage data and expertise to analyze, troubleshoot, and remediate SEO issues
- Proven ability to drive change, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive business results
- Experience in working with related disciplines of content marketing and conversion a plusSkills and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management, analytical and prioritization skills
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong knowledge of core/emerging SEO tools, analytics packages, and industry information
